Stay Away From Crazy Ass Bitches/Bastards
SAFCAB had our first annual poker run for domestic violence awareness in May 2011.
It was a huge success!!!  We had over 75 bikes in the poker run., sold tons of t-shirts, dinner plates & raffle tickets for some great prizes.  We enjoyed some great music by some great bands that were awesome enough to donate their time for this cause.  At the end of the day, we had raised a total of $2,600.  We only had 10 t-shirts left and one of our sponsors (TT&E) bought those to give to their office staff, so we were able to add another $100 for a grand total of $2,700.  All of this was donated to Safe Space, a domestic violence shelter located in Louisburg in Franklin County.  They help people in all the surrounding areas, including our immediate area of Wake County.

These are some great folks doing a tough job and we were so pleased to be able to help them, as well as help so many people who, unforunately need their services.  We're just thankful they are there to help.  And we are so very, very thankful to all those who participated & donated to this wonderful cause!
We had two goals in mind:
(1) We wanted to raise awareness and let people know that you're not alone!  Many people are or have been in abusive relationships and there is always a way out.  We are here for you, the people at these shelter's are here for you and we will all do anything we can to help you.
(2) The shelters provide help to those in need.  Raising money for them will help them to help others.

We are pleased to say that we achieved our goal.  We raised awareness and got people talking about a subject that we all know is happening everyday, but you just don't talk about.  You try to keep it hidden.  We were able to let people know that they're not alone.  And we were able to make a nice donation to Safe Space.

We have set the date for our 2nd Annual Poker Run & Benefit.  It is set for May 5, 2012, so come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us and support a great cause & promote awareness!

If you are interested in participating in the 2012 event, email us at info@safcab.com   We look forward to hearing from you and can't wait til the next event!
